PAYE and take-home pay calculator
Enter a monthly salary to estimate PAYE, UIF and take-home pay for the 2026/27 tax year, 1 March 2026 to 28 February 2027.
- PAYE–a month
- UIF, from the employee–a month
- Take-home pay–a month
- Employer’s UIF and SDL–a month
An estimate on salary alone. It leaves out retirement fund contributions, allowances, benefits and other deductions, all of which change the result. The employer’s figure includes SDL at 1%, which applies once your annual payroll is above R500,000. It is not tax advice.
HRify works this out for every employee, every month, and gives you the EMP201 figures.

The monthly salary is multiplied by twelve and taxed using the SARS brackets. The rebate for the employee’s age is taken off, the result is divided by twelve, and the medical scheme tax credit is deducted. UIF is 1% of pay, up to R177.12 a month.
